| so uh... just wanted to say hi. so... hi!
not much is new, just chillin' before work. nancy's in spain right now (and i'm real jealous) so i 've got nothing to do but work and sleep really. or, if i don't feel like sleeping, as was the case last night, i could stay up and play gunbound until the sun rises and then it's too late to get any sleep before work...
anyway, like i said, i just wanted to say hi. leave me some love so i feel like i'm writing this for more than just my health.
i'm tired...
i'm hungry... i think i'll get some donuts for breakfast...

| ben and i have one week to vacate this apartment. i found that out about three days ago. luckilly we were able to find another place today. so we're moving into a new apartment this weekend. it's not far from this place, just down the street... princeton place. it's a whole lot cleaner and way less ghetto. so yeah, no more summer green.
in other news i missed both the sopranos and 24 earlier this week so i'm gonna have to spend sunday afternoon catching back up at home...
i'd better go clean up and pack a little. i've gotta be outta here pretty soon.

| i was in a record store with my little bros when visiting washington d.c. and the owners of the store posted their top ten favorite albums on the wall behind the registers. i thought it was awesome, the perfect idea for a couple of dudes running a record store. anyway, it got me thinking about what my top ten list would look like lately so here's what i came up with...
1. coldplay - a rush of blood to the head 2. wilco - yankee hotel foxtrot 3. sufjan stevens - come on feel the illinoise! 4. incubus - morning view 5. badly drawn boy - the hour of the bewilderbeast 6. sublime - sublime 7. citizen cope - citizen cope 8. the pixies - live at the BBC 9. radiohead - hail to the thief 10. the arcade fire - funeral
and how about my top ten favorite songs off of those ten albums? i'm bored, why not!?
1. amsterdam "and i know i’m dead on the surface but i am screaming underneath..." 2. heavy metal drummer "i miss the innocence i've known, playing kiss covers, beautiful and stoned..." 3. jacksonville "andrew jackson, all i'm asking show us the wheel and give us the wine..." 4. blood on the ground "seeing you is like pulling teeth and hearing your voice is like chewing tin foil..." 5. say it again "a head full of dreams only room for one..." 6. caress me down "i didn’t know she had that g.i. joe kung-fu grip..." 7. contact "only because my life depends on it..." 8. is she weird "your mouth is everywhere... i'm lyin' in it..." 9. backdrifts "all evidence has been buried, all tapes have been erased but your footsteps give you away so you're backtracking..." 10. wake up "our bodies get bigger but our hearts get torn up..."

| so for spring break my family and i went to washington d.c. and it was
awesome! i got to see the coolest stuff... the white house,
the capital building which was amazing, all the monuments (there are a
LOT of them), arlington national cemetary which was truly humbling,
georgetown, mount vernon, the watergate complex, the
smithsonian.. well, some of the smithsonian. i did get to
see all the dinosaur bones which was a childhood dream come true, and
an asian art exhibit which was beautiful. one night there was
some sort of charity dinner in our hotel (which was two blocks north of
the white house) and the president and vice president were there.
in fact, the actor who played secretary of defense heller on 24 was
there and i got my picture with him. i love that show and he was
aways really cool and when we asked him why he's not on it anymore he
answered, "oh, i'll be back." AWESOME! the only bummer is
that i really wanted to see a motorcade of black suburbans with a
police escort but it never happened. also, the halocaust museum
was emotional... really sad but really good. i even got to
see the room where president lincoln died and a pillow stained with his
blood. it was super freaky... JFK's grave with the eternal
flame at arlington was incredible. all in all, a super fun trip.
anyway, since i got back i haven't been up to a whole lot... i
worked four doubles in a row at work and cleaned the apartment so i was
real tired last night. right now i'm watching big on tv.
tom hanks is so great acting like a kid and i love that he has a coke
machine anbd a bunch of arcade games and pinball machines in his
apartment. i'm going to dinner in a while with nancy and then who
knows... maybe a movie or something. next weekend my
grandma and aunt are going to be visiting the house so i can't wait to
go home. as crazy as my family is i think they're great.
on a side note, i love the geiko gecko... on that one commercial
when he keeps saying "pie and chips" i think it's hilarious.
chinese take-out rules. the flu sucks. i've decided finally
that there are some girls that don't totally suck. caleb is
working with me at carinos which is going to be pretty fun now that he
and ben and i all work there.
time to finish watching big and then get ready for dinner... peace.

| so get this... before work yesterday i was watching the blues brothers as i was getting ready. it got to the part of the movie when the band is in that hilbilly bar and they play the theme from rawhide and then "stand by your man". i shut the movie off in the middle of "stand by your man" and left for work. when i got to work i started knockin' about, doin my thing when i looked out into the restaurant and saw an old employer of mine, the old chinese lady who i interned for at trinity industries. i hadn't seen her in probably two years and then there she was, just chillin out in carino's. the oddest part about this whole story is that when i worked for her, she used to play the song "stand by your man" on repeat in her office all day, everyday. ever since then, i can't help but think of her whenever i hear that song. i started to think of all the movies i COULD have been watching that afternoon, all the scenes and all the songs in the movie i COULD have been watching before i stopped the movie, and all the people who COULD have been sitting out in the restaurant at that time... i thought of just how complicated a coinscidence that was... it boggled my mind... but then, maybe i was just bored at work...
